I love the shape of the clouds in this image. There’s a big, wide “V” in the sky, where all the clouds point to a converging spot where the rain is the hardest.
I created this while driving in the open country on the way to Moab, one of my favorite places on Earth. I saw this storm off in the desert, and without pulling over, I held the camera steady and created this image out of my vehicle window. That is why the foreground has a wonderful and smooth horizontal blur. It is traveling past the camera faster than the storm in the distance, but the blur gives it a beautiful abstract painted look.
