The infrared light spectrum is quite different than the visual light we’re used to. Shapes are perceived instead as hot or cold, more reflective or less reflective of infrared. While exploring and photographing Death Valley, was struck by this beautiful sunset and switched to my color infrared camera to capture this unique image. The setting sun is bright orange, while the cool desert mountains are the opposite, but still show the ruggedness of the terrain.
